Pop-up has certainly gripped London and the latest venture I came across, whilst on the bus today, was a pop up cinema. Before you get too excited, all the films they are currently running have sold out. However, I have signed up to their newsletter so am first in line for any new screenings that may or may not pop up. It’s taken the place of an ugly, disused petrol station on Clerkenwell Road (hence the name), and whilst during the day it still doesn’t look like much, I am sure at night, with the curtains drawn, and the cushions in place, this could be an exciting experience. Especially when, at the end of the performance, they draw back the drapes to reveal the auditorium to unsuspecting passers by.
